06/09/2007: Germany and Israel ratify the Council of Europe/UNESCO Recognition Convention
Germany and Israel have recently deposited their instruments of ratification
of the Council of Europe/UNESCO Recognition Convention. With respect to Israel,
the Convention will come into force on September 1 and with respect to Germany
it will do so on October 1.
The Council of Europe/UNESCO Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications
concerning Higher Education in the European Region provides the legal framework
for qualifications in the European region. The full text of the Convention as
well as of its Explanatory Report may be found at:

constantly updated overview of signatures and ratifications.
With the ratifications by Germany and Israel, the total number of ratifications
is now 45, and 5 countries have signed the Convention and are in the process of
ratification.

Registration now open!
The
Second European Quality Assurance Forum
on “Implementing and Using
Quality Assurance: Strategy and Practice” is co-organised by
ENQA,
ESU ,
EUA and
EURASHE and
will take place in Rome, at the Università degli Studi di Roma 'La Sapienza', on
15-17 November 2007. The deadline to register with the early registration fee is
1 October 2007.
ESNSurvey 2007: Generation Mobility
Every year the Erasmus Student Network launches a survey that explores the current issues connected to academic and non-academic mobility. Through the gathered opinions of students, ESN gets a better insight into the issues and is able to represent the students' real needs.
All the past, present and future exchange students are invited to fill in the survey.The participants will also have a chance to win 5 flight vouchers in a draw, but the real incentive for students is to be able to influence the decision makers in order to design more successful exchange programmes. The deadline for filling in the survey is 30 September 2007. The questionnaire can be accessed via www.esn.org/survey
06/06/2007 - EU Commission Call for proposals on EQF
DG EAC of the European Commission has just published the second Call for Proposals to test and develop the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). The Call aims to support projects in developing and testing the EQF, including national and sectoral qualifications frameworks.
